Antichrist-The Emerging World Leader.
Emerging Globalization (One World) and one world ruler.
A few decades ago, one man taking control over the whole world was difficult to fathom. Today, the one world and the one world ruler makes much sense primarily due to the technological and global communication development. Bible warned us several thousands of years ago, about a man who is going to appear in the world leadership stage during the end time, to rule the whole world. Many people today started thinking about the possibility of one world and a one world leader, as a viable alternative in the near future. When he comes on the stage, he will have the power and authority over the whole world during the time period the Bible calls- the Great Tribulation period. His name is Antichrist.
Heightened interest in Antichrist.
We can see a definite increase in this topic of Antichrist in recent years. More books are published on the topics of antichrist in this last one year than ever in the past decades. It’s reported that about 1.5 million searches in Google occurred in one month. The curiosity included , who is the antichrist? what part of the world does he live? Is he living today? Is Antichrist related to any particular nation? Is he a Muslim, etc..etc. I think this way – God who want people to know the truth, is putting this heightened interest about antichrist, in the hearts and minds of people all across the world.
Even in the midst of these enormously rising interest in the topic of antichrist, some Christian believers are of the opinion that we don’t need to study about Antichrist because they think Bible doesn’t give much attention to this person. But this is a wrong conclusion because Bible talks about the Antichrist more than one hundred times. Many people are ignorant of the fact this is one of the major prophecies in the Bible.
Nothing but the whole counsel of God.
Keep in mind, God chose us and gave us an important role, to provide the world with the ‘whole counsel of God’ that is revealed in the Bible. Paul said in the Bible in Acts 20:27 that he didn’t shrink from declaring to them “the whole purpose of God”.
If we don’t give attention to every single teaching and warning of the Bible, we won’t be able to understand these topics for ourselves and consequently becomes unable to instruct and prepare other people regarding the very important seasons or signs of times that God revealed in the Bible. As we know, this was one of the reasons why the Pharisees and Sadducees were blind and hard-hearted toward Jesus Christ’s first advent. Jesus Christ was the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies and they failed to understand this truth because they didn’t understand the whole counsel of God. Christ challenged them with this statement and question. “When it’s evening, you say, it will be fair weather, for the sky is red. And in the morning, there will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening. Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?” When we miss understanding what God already revealed to us in the pages of the Bible, remember we may entertain the same risk. This is why the study of the Bible and especially of the prophecy is very important. The study of prophecy is much more important these last days because several Bible prophecies had been literally fulfilled right in front of our eyes and the remaining prophecies are getting ready to be fulfilled literally, in the near future. When we study the Bible and prophecies, we should attend to study the whole counsel that is provided to us, not just a few items of our choice. This is why Paul said to Timothy, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, as a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed”. It is a commandment- Be diligent. And how can we present yourself approved to God? It gives the answer immediately after the above command, “handling accurately the Word of truth”. We should be able to give the whole counsel of God by accurately dividing the Word of God. This is one of the ways we can present ourselves approved to God.

Prince who is to come (Daniel 9:26).
The book of Daniel is an amazing prophetical book in the Bible like the Book of Revelation. If you study the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation, you will get a very solid understanding of the events of the end times. See, God had disclosed what is going to happen during the end times ahead of time so that we can prepare for it. God’s sovereignty over the world and its history are perfectly revealed in this book. God gave a prophetical calendar for the nation Israel and Jerusalem. it says like this, “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your Holy City “. (David’s people is Israel and holy city is Jerusalem). This means seventy groups of seven years – a total of 490 years. 70 weeks -Shaboova- groups of seven. In modern times we think in terms of 10 years, one decade and one century and so forth. But for Israel, groupings of years was different. They thought 7 days in a week, 7 years for the Sabbath of the land. You may remember Jacob worked one week (7 years) for Rachel and another week (7 years) for Leah.
Verse 25 of chapter 9 says this future events calendar of God starts from the day of the issue of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. Jerusalem was destroyed by Babylon and Daniel and his friends along with several other captives were brought in to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar.
However, this seventy groups of seven years are divided into two parts. It says in verse 25 that “from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks (7+62=69 groups of 7 years means 483 years). The Messiah is Jesus Christ. Therefore, from the date of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem to the time of the cutting off of Messiah will be 483 years.
The command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem included, by King Artaxerxes (Nehemiah 2:1). This was in the month of Nissan in the 20th year of King Artaxerxes -465 BC – 20 =445 BC. From this day to the day when Jesus rode on a donkey when the multitude proclaimed Him as the king and Messiah were exactly 483 years. over was four days before the crucifixion of Christ. This was a sharp and accurate fulfillment of the prophecy and do you know this – the Jews hate this prophecy and they advise Jews not to read Daniel 9:2427. Daniel chapter 9 and Isaiah 53 are two excellent places for a dialogue with Jews.
Daniel 9: 26-29 informs us what is going to happen after the 483 years, after the triumphal entry of Christ into Jerusalem. It says the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And it will come to an end with a flood; even to the end there will be war, desolations are determined.”
All these are literally fulfilled after the 483 years. Hallelujah! I do praise the LORD for His wonderful prophecies given in the Bible. This is why I always say there is no other book like Bible in this world because God is the author of the books of the Bible. We can look back through the history and see Messiah was cut off. The people of the prince who is to come already destroyed the Jerusalem city and the temple. This is where the people of the prince who is to come prophecy comes. The prince mentioned here is the antichrist and the people of the prince is Roman Empire. It was the Roman Empire who destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the temple in Jerusalem in AD 70.
The Revival of the Old Roman Empire and the emergence of the Little Horn- Antichrist.
The Roman Empire fell apart in 5th century AD. As we know Europe is the old Roman Empire. The empire was divided into several nations which are today’s Europe. Daniel chapter 2 and 7 says the divided nations that came from the Roman Empire (today’s Europe) will be revived again during the end times. Bible says in Daniel 2 and 7 that the Roman Empire will be revived and comprised of ten nations ruled by ten kings (ten horns). Then the prophecy of Daniel 7 says, another little horn (the 11th horn) begins in a small and insignificant way but grows in strength and power and this horn will conquer three of the existing horns (king or rulers). This little horn amazes power and dominance over all the revived Roman Empire. This little horn is the Antichrist- the prince to come.
Many Bible scholars are of the opinion that the stage is set for the emergence of antichrist. The forming of the European Union and the coming together of the old Roman nations right in front of our eyes can be seen as a sign for the ultimate fulfillment of the emergence of the little horn – the antichrist. The prophecies in Daniel 2, 7 and 9 regarding the coming together of the old Roman Empire nations is a very interesting and accurate fulfillment of the Bible prophecy. From among these nations, the antichrist should emerge very soon and he will get the complete global control and dominion.
