“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.” John 13:8

Today’s passage tells us our Lord Jesus, the Son of God, is willing to wash even the dirtiest part of lives and make you clean and brand new in the presence of God. And If you do not allow Him to wash, you have no part with him.

Jesus although the Son of God, He came to save us by dying for our sins was willing to stoop down and wash the disciple’s feet to make them clean. Feet is the dirtiest part of the human body in olden days due to the absence of proper foot coverage in those days; they had to walk long ways because of the lack of vehicles like we have today and the roads were dusty and muddy. Feet get dirtier than any other part of the body in those days.
It also tells us that if Jesus does not wash us, we do not have any part with Him. Peter said two times that He would not allow Jesus to wash his feet.

However, when he heard from Jesus that he has no part with Jesus unless He washes him, Peter said to Jesus please wash not only his feet but hands and head as well. Peter wanted to have good and close fellowship with Jesus, and he won’t sacrifice his friendship, and part with Jesus, the savior of the world. However, Jesus said to him you are already clean, and you need only the washing of the feet. Peter was already a believer in Christ. You see Peter left everything and followed Jesus when Jesus called him. This is why Jesus said he is already clean because Jesus was the savior and Lord of Peter. You are already clean if we are a believer in Christ.

If you have not accepted Christ Jesus as your savior, then you are not clean because you do not have a savior as of yet. Only Jesus Christ, the savior of the world and His shed blood can make us clean from all our sins.
I am not sure what are you facing in your life now? You may be thinking you became so dirty and unclean that there is no way you can be clean again. However, Jesus promises He can wash even the dirtiest part of your life and make you clean and whole again if you let Him. Jesus can wash and clean even the dirtiest, most cruel, wicked and immoral people and can transform them into a brand new person. Would you allow Jesus to wash you and make you clean? He will make you a brand new person by removing away all sins and stains of your life.

Listen to what God says in the Bible in Isaiah 1:18,
“Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.”

We need to settle the matter of our sin with the Lord. Even the children of God, those who had already accepted Christ as their savior and Lord, can be tainted by sins because they are also living in this sin bound world and mingle with sinful people. However, Lord Jesus can make us pure and white again, if we call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, beloved, Jesus will wash you and make you clean and pure again because of His shed blood on the cross for your salvation. The blood of Christ is the best eraser that can wash away all our wrongdoings and sins and make you righteous in the sight of God.
