The most cardinal choice-the choice between life and death!
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life so that you and your descendants might live! ” (Deuteronomy 30:19).

Beloved, we make many choices in our lives, don’t we? Some of them may not be that important like what I am going to eat for lunch or dinner. But some are vitally important like the choice of career and spouse. But the most important choice a person would ever make is this -the choice between life and death. In short, this is what that means- What did you do with the Son of God, Jesus Christ? Listen, there is no greater choice between cradle to grave.
Our today’s insight says, “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life so that you and your descendants might live! ” Choice is given to us. God is asking you to choose life so that you and your children may live. You may have abundant life here on earth and eternal life in heaven after death. Bible says, “In him (Jesus Christ) was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. (John 1:4).
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”
Jesus also answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Dearly Beloved, God pleads us to choose life by coming to His Son, Jesus Christ, the savior of the whole world. Jesus Christ shed his sinless and divine blood for all of our sins to reconcile us with God the Father. If there were any other ways of salvation, He did not have to come to this sinful world and die on the cross cruelly for our salvation. No other way period!
Would you choose life today? Got a moment for prayer? Pray now with me.
“Father in heaven, you asked me to choose between life and death. You said life is in your Son, Jesus Christ. I accept Jesus Christ as my savior and Lord. I believe He died and risen again for my sins. Please save me today and grant me abundant life now and eternal life when I close my eyes here on earth. In Christ’s name, I pray. Amen.”
