First – The foundation of all other countless blessings-forgiveness of all your sins (Psalm 103:3a).

Did you ever think  what is the biggest problem of mankind and what is the very core of all  benefits in your life? Why famous people commit suicide and why many are unthankful and unhappy? Why many don’t have real joy in their life?

David’s starts with the core of problem and the foundation of all other blessings. When we think about all the blessings we got from the Lord, the basic foundational blessings of all other blessings is God’s forgiveness of all our iniquities. If our sins or iniquities are not forgiven by a holy God, then there is no standing possible before the holy God. Consequently we won’t be able to receive any other blessings from Him either. I thank God the Bible says in Psalm 103:3 the Lord pardons all your iniquities. Please make a note of the small word “all”. When you come to God and seek Him in and through Jesus Christ (the only way of salvation), He pardons all your iniquities. It doesn’t say some of the sins are forgiven. Bible promises “all” your iniquities, sins, transgressions are totally and completely forgiven. God forgives all – past, present and future sins- when we come to Him in repentance. When Christ died to pay for our sins on the cross, all our sins were in the future. His sinless blood paid for all our sins. That was the eternal plan and purpose of God. Bible says when we come to God in the name of Christ and when we agree with Him that we committed sin in our life and look to him for salvation, ” He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. ( 1 John 1:5). Bible also says in 1 John 2:1 that Jesus Christ is an Advocate in heaven with the Father and if any one need salvation from sin, he or she can come to Christ in prayer. Bible says in 1 John 2:2, “He (Jesus) is the propitiation (satisfaction) for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.” Christ is the savior not just for ourselves, but He is the savior of the whole world. God placed all our sins on Christ Jesus that we could be forgiven and completely and fully saved from our sins. Bible reminds us in Isaiah 53:6, “We all, like sheep, have gone astray,  each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. God all our iniquities on Him (Jesus Christ). Verse 5 says, “He (Jesus) was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening of our well being fell upon Him. Any by His scourging (wounds) we are healed.

 

This is how God re-established His loving relationship with you and me. Remember forgiveness of your sin is the foundation of all other blessings that come from God- pardon of all our iniquities by a holy God because he laid on all our sins on Christ Jesus. By doing this marvelous work, God forgives all our iniquities- the past, present, and future. When Christ died for you and me on the cross all our sins were still in future because all of us were not even born at that time. God pardoned you in an through Christ, even yet to be committed sins, that could shock us if we know about them right now.

In Psalm 103:2-5, David remembers five benefits he received from the Lord. He lists the forgiveness of his sins as the number one. Why? What is the biggest problem of human beings? Isaiah 59:2 says, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that he will not hear.” Your sins and iniquities, Bible says, separated you from your God. God has hidden His face from you and won’t hear your prayers because of sin in your life. Secondly, there is no joy and peace in life but only groaning and wasting away of your body due to the sins. The condition of a person who commits sins and not turns to God for forgiveness is described in Psalms 32:3-6. Read slowly and understand what it says.

“When I kept quiet about my sin, my bones wasted away from crying all day long.  For day and night, Your hand was heavy upon me. My strength was dried up as in the hot summer.  I told my sin to You. I did not hide my wrong-doing. I said, “I will tell my sins to the Lord.” And You forgave the guilt of my sin.   So let all who are God-like pray to You while You may be found because, in the floods of much water, they will not touch him. ”

We have two choices about our sins- hide it which will result in the above condition. Or acknowledge and pray to Lord Jesus Christ and receive the forgiveness of sins and gain the peace and joy that the Lord would give in the hearts.

My friend, Do you know God is eager to forgive you and cleanse you from all your sins? Yes, Bible says God is your father who wants to accept you as His child and nothing can separate you from the love of God if you come to Him in the name of Christ Jesus. I thank God because He pardoned all my sins in my life. Not because of any merit of my own, but the blood of Christ was the propitiation (satisfaction) for all my sins. Now God granted me His peace and joy in my life.
