Second-Healing from all our diseases. Psalm 103:3 (b)
When you think about the healing from our diseases, we remember we all experienced healing from many diseases in the past, right? The specialist and skilled doctors and nurses do all they can when we get sick. But the doctors generally admit the fact that they cannot heal any sick person. They suggest to take this and that medicine and get proper diet and exercises. However, healing is not actually science and there is no guaranty for healing. We can use all latest and expensive medicines and newest medical technologies. But at the end, each time healing must come only from its true source and power- the Lord.

Last week I wrote about the first benefits of all other benefits that you receive from the Lord and that was “He forgives all my sins”. This is the foundational benefit from where all other God’s blessings are derived.
Psalm 32:1-2 says, “How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered!
How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity.”
See, either we can hide our sins or we can confess our sins to the Lord Jesus. Confessing to the Lord is a far better option. Because, upon confession, the Lord covers your sins and He won’t impute iniquity on you anymore.
The real source of all our healings.
Today, we are going to discuss the second benefit David is talking in Psalm 103:3 (b) and that is “who heals all our diseases.” When you think about the healing from our diseases, we remember we all experienced healing from many diseases in the past, right? The specialist and skilled doctors and nurses do all they can when we get sick. But the doctors generally admit the fact that they cannot heal any sick person. They suggest to take this and that medicine and get proper diet and exercises. However, healing is not actually science and there is no guaranty for healing. We can use all latest and expensive medicines and newest medical technologies. But at the end, each time healing must come only from the Lord.
My friend’s wife had to go through a brain surgery due to cancer. This well skilled, experienced and most efficient brains surgeon told this to my friend. He won’t guaranty complete cure or deliverance from death during the surgery. He said he is just an instrument trying his best to save her life. But He was not sure what is going to happen during or after the surgery. He also said there is a higher probability that she would become disabled or paralyzed after the surgery. Mark his word – I am just an instrument and don’t know exactly what is going to happen during or after surgery.
In my friend’s case, to the surprise of the medical community, the Lord protected her with no harm during or after the surgery. The Lord allowed her to live healthy almost a year more. God extended her life on this earth.
There is nothing wrong in using the latest technologies if it’s affordable to you and we should take all the medicines the doctors recommend for use. We do this not because we trust the technologies or medicines but we pray and ultimately trust the Lord from whom the healing comes. The Lord gave us good doctors and medicines for our temporary help and healing. The Lord is the source and the originator of every good thing. Bible says in James 1:16, “Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.” It is not the medical professionals, nurses, latest technologies or medicines that save us from sickness. Always and always, it’s the Lord who heals all our diseases. Bible says in Jeremiah 17:14, “Lord, you alone can heal me, you alone can save, and my praises are for You alone.” In Exodus 15:26 (d) God says, “for I am the Lord who heals you.”
In the above sense, it only makes good sense the statement of David in Psalm 103. It is the Lord who heals all my diseases. In my friend’s wife’s case, the healing was temporary because she lived only for one more year. But keep in mind all the healings we receive when we live in this world is temporary. We will get sick again. And our healing is always temporary. But let us thank and praise the Lord for all the temporary and limited healing the Lord gives us here.
Do you know Bible says the Lord is the one who provides ultimate healing from all our diseases? Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:52-55, ” In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
My friend’s dear wife went to be with the Lord just recently, a month ago. She was a person who believed in Christ as her savior and Lord and she had the hope of eternal life and permanent healing. She is in heaven today with the Lord. Bible reminds us our ultimate and complete healing comes when this perishable body becomes imperishable and this mortal body becomes immortal- When we are raised immortal and incorruptible.
Bible says in Revelation 21:3-4, “And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
The time of ultimate and permanent healing is when we reach heaven. Bible assures- No more sickness, no more tears, no more death, no more mourning, no more crying and no more pain.
Until we reach there, let us give thanks to the Lord for all his temporary and limited healing he gives us here on the earth. Then He will heal us completely and fully from all the diseases. We can say along with David that the Lord is the one who heals us from all our diseases and we can thank and praise the Lord for all little bit healings He gives us now.
