Amazing Fact- Prophecies fulfilled in Christ’s first coming.
More than 300 prophecies in the Bible were literally fulfilled with pin point accuracy. Let us study some of the prophecies fulfilled in Christ Jesus, so that you will know how accurately the Bible prophecies were fulfilled. Space won’t allow me to cite all the prophecies concerning Jesus Christ in the Bible.
We can trust the Bible and the God of the Bible one hundred percent! And you will be amazed to read the following literal fulfillment of the prophecies regarding Christ’s first coming. Because of the fact these prophecies regarding the first advent of the Christ in to this world as our savior are literally fulfilled, the second coming of the Christ will also be literally fulfilled. Bible gives three times more prophecies regarding the second coming of the Christ, and what is that means? That only means the second coming of Christ is three times as sure and certain as His first advent.
Messiah will bruise Satan on the head
Genesis: 3:15- “He shall bruise you on the head and you shall bruise him on the heel”.
Fulfillment
Colossians: 2:14-15 He (God) canceled the certificate of debt, consisting of decrees against us. He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, triumphed over them through Him. (Jesus). On the cross Jesus bruised the head of Satan.
1 John 5:18- The one who is born of God doesn’t continue in sin…and the evil one doesn’t touch him
Romans: 16:20- The God of peace of will soon crush Satan under your feet
Messiah will be the promised ‘Seed’.
Genesis 22:18- “And In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed” 2 Samuel: 7:12-16-After your days, I will raise your offspring. I will establish his kingdom (endure before me forever, throne established for ever)
Fulfillment
Matthew 1:1 “Genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham”
Galatians 3:16- The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He doesn’t say, “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed”, meaning one person, who is Christ.
Messiah is the star and has the scepter
Numb: 24:17 – “ I see him now, but not now; I behold him, but not near; A star shall come forth from Jacob, and a scepter shall rise from Israel”.
Fulfillment
Matthew 2:2: 9-10 –”For we saw the star in the east, and have come to worship Him….the star went on before them, until it came and stood over where the child was…. And when they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.
Revelation 22:16- “I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.
Genesis 49:10- “The scepter shall not depart from Judah.. Until Shiloh comes”
Hebrews: 1:8 –”Fulfilled in Christ- “of the Son, he says “thy throne, O God, is forever….the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom.
The Messiah will be born in Bethlehem Micah 5:2
“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village in Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you, one whose origins are from the distant past.”
Fulfillment: Luke 2:4-5, 7, 15 – “And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, his fiancée, who was obviously pregnant by this time. She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped Him snugly in strips of cloth and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the village inn… the shepherds said to each other, ‘Come on, let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this wonderful thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.’’ J
John 7:42 – “For the Scriptures clearly state that the Messiah will be born of the royal line of David, in Bethlehem, the village where King David was born.”
The Messiah will be given the Throne of David.
Isaiah 9:7- There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.
Fulfillment
Luke 1:32-33. “He will be great will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob; and His kingdom will have no end.”
The Messiah Will Be Born Of A Virgin
Isaiah 7:14 – “All right then, the Lord Himself will choose the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel – ‘God is with us’.
Fulfillment
Matthew 1:20-23 – “As he considered this, he fell asleep, and an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. ‘Joseph, son of David, “The angel said, ‘do not be afraid to go ahead with your marriage to Mary. For the child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit”.
And she will have a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’ All of this happened to fulfill the Lord’s message through His prophet: ‘Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and He will be called Immanuel (meaning, God is with us).’’
The Messiah Will Enter Jerusalem Triumphantly.
Zechariah 9:9
“Rejoice, rejoice greatly.. shout…, your king is coming to you…humble and mounted on a donkey, even a colt, the foal of a donkey”. Zechariah 9:9
Fulfillment
John 12:12-15 – “The next day, the news that Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem swept through the city. A huge crowd of Passover visitors took palm branches and went down the road to meet Him. They shouted, ‘Praise God! Bless the One who comes in the name of the Lord! Hail to the King of Israel! Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, fulfilling the prophecy that said: ‘Don’t be afraid, people of Israel. Look, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt.’”
The Messiah Will Be Rejected By His Own People.
Isaiah 53:1, 3 – “Who has believed our message? To whom will the Lord reveal His saving power? He was despised and rejected – a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief. We turned our backs on Him and looked the other way when He went by. He was despised, and we did not care.”
Fulfillment
John 1:10-11 – “But although the world was made through Him, the world didn’t recognize Him when He came. Even in His own land and among own people, He was not accepted.” John 12:37-38 – “But despite all the miraculous signs He had done, most of the people didn’t believe in Him.This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted: ‘Lord, who has believed our message? To whom will the Lord reveal His saving power?”
The Messiah Will Be Betrayed By One Of His Followers
Psalm 41:9 – “Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.”
Fulfillment
John 13:18, 21, 26 – “….He exclaimed, ‘The truth is, one of you will betray Me!’ Jesus said, ‘It is the one to whom I give the bread dipped in the sauce.’ And when He had dipped it, He gave it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot.”
Matthew 26:47, 49-50a So Judas came straight to Jesus. ‘Greetings, Teacher!’ he exclaimed and gave Him the kiss. Jesus said, “My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for.’’
The Messiah Will Be Betrayed For 30 Pieces Of Silver
Zechariah 11:12-13 – “And I said unto them, “If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was priced at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.” Amount of price paid for the life of a slave.
Fulfillment
Matthew 26:14-16 – “Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the leading priests and asked, ‘How much will you pay me to Jesus to you?’ And they gave him thirty pieces of silver. From that time on, Judas began looking for the right time and place to betray Jesus.”
The Messiah Will Be Tried And Condemned
Isaiah 53:8 – “From prison and trial they led Him away to His death. But who among the people realized that He was dying for their sins – that He was suffering their punishment?”
Fulfillment
Matthew 27:1-2 – “Very early in the morning, the leading priests and other leaders met again to discuss how to persuade the Roman government to sentence Jesus to death. Then they bound Him and took Him to Pilate, the Roman governor.”
The Messiah Will Be Silent Before His Accusers
Psalm 35:11 – “Malicious witnesses testify against me. They accuse me of things I don’t even know about.” Isaiah 53:7-8a – “He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet He never said a word. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, He did not open His mouth. From prison and trial they led Him away to His death.”

Matthew 27:12-14 – “But when the leading priests and other leaders made their accusations against Him, Jesus remained silent. “Don’t you hear their many charges against you?” Pilate demanded. But Jesus said nothing, much to the governor’s great surprise.”
The Messiah Will Be Smitten And Spat Upon
Micah 5:1 – With a rod they will strike the leader of Israel in the face.” Isaiah 50:6“I give My back to those who beat Me and My cheeks to those who pull out My beard. I do not hide from shame, for they mock Me and spit in My face”
Fulfillment
Matthew 26:67-68 – “Then they spit in Jesus’ face and hit Him with their fists. And some slapped Him, saying, ‘Prophesy to us, You Messiah! Who hit you that time?’”
Matthew 27:30 – “And they spit on Him and grabbed the stick and beat Him on the head with it.”
The Messiah To Die By Crucifixion, With Pierced Hands And Feet
Psalm 22:14-16 – “and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax, melting within me. You have laid me in the dust and left me for dead. They have pierced my hands and feet.”
Zechariah 12:10a –They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for Him as for an only son.
Fulfillment
Matthew 27:31 – “When they were finally tired of mocking Him, they took off the robe and put His own clothes on Him again. Then they led Him away to be crucified.” Mark 15:20 – “When they were finally tired of mocking Him, they took off the purple robe and put His own clothes on Him again. Then they led Him away to be crucified.”
John 19:34 …”One of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, Immediately came out blood and water”. 19:37 “they shall look on him whom they pierced”
The Messiah Will Suffer With Sinners
Isaiah 53:12a – “I will give Him the honors of One who is mighty and great, because He exposed Himself to death. He was counted among those who were sinners.”
Fulfillment
Matthew 27:38 – “Two criminals were crucified with Him, their crosses on either side of His.”
Mark 15:27 – “Two criminals were crucified with Him, their crosses on either side of His.”
Luke 23:32-33 – “Two others, both criminals, were led out to be executed with Him. Finally, they came to a place called The Skull. All three were crucified there – Jesus on the center cross, and the two criminals on either side.”
The Messiah’s Garments Will Be Divided By Casting Lots
Psalms 22:18 – “They divide my clothes among themselves and throw dice for My garments.”
Fulfillment
Matthew 27:35 – “After they had nailed Him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for His clothes by throwing dice.”
Mark 15:24 – “Then they nailed Him to the cross. They gambled for His clothes, throwing dice to decide who would get them.”
Messiah will be given vinegar to drink
Psalms: 69:21- “and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink”
Fulfillment
John 19:28- “Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar; and they filed a sponge with vinegar…and put it to his mouth.”
The Messiah’s Bones Will Not Be Broken
Numbers 9:12 – “They must not leave any of the lamb until the next morning, and they must not break any of its bones. They must follow all the normal regulations concerning the Passover.”
Fulfillment
John 19:32-37, “So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the two men crucified with Jesus. But when they came to Jesus, they saw that He was dead already, so they didn’t break His legs. One of the soldiers, however, pierced His side with a spear, and blood and water flowed out. This report is from an eyewitness giving an accurate account; it is presented so that you also can believe. These things happened in fulfillment of the Scriptures that say, ‘Not one of His bones will be broken,’ and ‘They will look on Him whom they pierced.”
1 Corinthians 5:7b – “Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.”
The Messiah Will Be Buried In A Rich Man’s Tomb
Isaiah 53:9 – “He had done no wrong, and He never deceived anyone. But He was buried like a criminal; He was put in a rich man’s grave.”
Fulfillment
Matthew 27:57-60 – “As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who was one of Jesus’ followers, went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him. Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long linen cloth. He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance as he left
The Messiah Will Be Raised From The Dead
Psalm 16:10 – “For You will not leave my soul among the dead or allow Your Godly One to rot in the grave.” Psalm 30:3 – “You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death.”
Fulfillment
Matthew 28:5-7- “ I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He has been raised from the dead, just as He said “
Mark 16:6-7 – “The angel said, ‘Do not be so surprised. You are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene who was crucified. He isn’t here! He has been raised from the dead! Look, this is where they laid His body. Now go and give this message to His disciples, including Peter: Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see Him there, just as He told you before He died.”
Acts 2:27-31 – “‘For You will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave.
The Messiah Will Sit At God’s Right Hand
Psalm 110:1 – “The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit in honor at My right hand until humble Your enemies, making them a footstool under Your feet.’’
Fulfillment
Mark 16:19 – “When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, He was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.”
Acts 2:32-36 – “This prophecy was speaking of Jesus, whom God raised from the dead, and we all are witnesses of this. Now He sits on the throne of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand.
Hebrews 10:12-13 – “But our High Priest …Then He sat down at the place of highest honor at God’s right hand. There He waits until His enemies are humbled as a footstool under His feet.”
