Bible says in Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit”
Interpretation:
- Bible affirms this- the Lord God is very near if you’re broken hearted. David the King of Israel says this form his own personal experience of the Lord, when he was faced with life’s crushing struggles.
- The Lord God saves if you’re crushed in your spirit. This is again King David’s experience.
Application: Are you broken hearted now? Are you crushed in your spirit? God says in the Bible -this is the time He is very near to you. The Lord is a compassionate and loving God. When unfairness and injustice is done to you, God moves the scale on your side to help you, to lift you up. Because God is very close and near to you when you are crushed in your spirit, call upon Him and the compassionate Lord will reach out His hand and will deliver you. While Jesus was in this world, He reached out with a heart filled with compassion in order to help those who are in need. Are you in heavy laden? The Lord is very near to you. Reach out to the Lord Jesus and tell him in prayer about your crushing experience.
