A heartfelt cry and longing after the bombing.
“One day, I believe, peace will come, and our peoples will prosper together.”
‘Tehran is beautiful from above, I hope to visit one day’ Israeli pilot says after strike on Iran
“We’ve spent years preparing for an Iran operation. You always keep a sliver of hope that maybe we’ll never need it, that the threat can be removed some other way,” A. said.
“The last few days felt like a year,” an Israeli Air Force reserve navigator identified only as A. told The Jerusalem Post after flying in Operation Rising Lion, the June 13–24 pre-emptive campaign that Israel says crippled key parts of Iran’s nuclear and missile program. “So many highs and lows, so much joy and uncertainty — each day could fill a book.”
The article inserted in the link below ended with his emotional and heartfelt longing for peace. Click the link below to read all of the article.
However, Airforce Navigator ‘A’. closed with a direct appeal in Farsi he had practiced for weeks: “Mâ bâ shomâ jang nemikonim. We are not at war with you. We didn’t bomb you; we bombed those who want to destroy us. One day, I believe, peace will come, and our peoples will prosper together.”
And I thought about his words of hope for future peace between Israel and Iran and their people.
Israel is not in peace, Iran is not peace, and the nations, families and individual are not in peace without knowing and acknowledging the Prince of Peace. Only the Prince of Peace can impart peace.
Peter said this to the fellow Israelites, and it is recorded in Acts 2. ““Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.” The then spiritual leaders in Israel responded by saying this to Pilate when he washed his hands by saying I am innocent of Jesus’s blood. Read the quote from Matthew 27:22-26. “Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said, “Crucify Him!” And he said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they kept shouting all the more, saying, “Crucify Him!”
When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this Man’s blood; see to that yourselves.” And all the people said, “His blood shall be on us and on our children!” Then he released Barabbas for them; but after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified.” What they wished happened to them. The nation of Israel cannot and will not enjoy real peace until they repent and call upon their God given Messiah Jesus Christ. The days are coming as the Scripture promised, the nation Israel will look on to Jesus and repent over their sin of crucifying Christ, (Zechariah 12:10) after the great tribulation period God planned for their turning back to Christ Jesus. Then only the era of full and real peace the Israel Airforce navigator longed for would happen.
The same ‘no peace’ feeling will be there for Iran, and all the nations and people until they know Christ Jesus who is the God appointed and God given Savior and ‘Prince of Peace’.
Christ is prophesied in the OT as the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). Ephesians 2:14 says, “For He (Jesus) Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.” Jesus Himself promised this and recorded in John 14:27, “”Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Only the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ can give peoples, nations and its leaders the real peace.
Mankind has peace with God, our creator only by the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus for our sins. Jesus is the savior who paid for humanity’s sin. There is the source of peace. The Bible says in Romans 5:1, “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” We need peace with God to enjoy the real and lasting peace. And the peace with God is possible only through our Lord Jesus Christ who shed his innocent blood for our sins, and He is the only God appointed savior of mankind. This verse also says in the beginning this, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Mankind is justified by God because of their faith in Christ Jesus.
I also hope for peace and friendship between Israel and Iran. And between all nations, in families and individual lives. However, I also know for certain that only acknowledging Christ as the God given savior and by faith in Him, we enjoy the peace that our hearts longing for.
